My Review of Upside

Upside; Surprising Good News About the State of Our World

Written by: Bradley R.E. Wright, PhD

I am one of those people who gets really bugged when everyone starts talking about how the world is getting worse and worse… especially when they are basing their opinion on the state of one country, such as the US or A… therefore I was anxious to read this book, and perhaps find someone who agrees with me.

Who the book is for:

Those of us who need a positive view of our world.

Those interested in statistics.

Those who think that everything is going downhill and that our world (and our country) is getting worse and worse.

What I liked:

There was a lot of work put into this researching this book, and when reading it you can tell.

I like how the author doesn’t just share statistics with you, but also explains various reasons he thinks things may be the way they are.

What I didn’t like:

I, personally, didn’t like how the author focused so much on different races and how they compared to each other - we are all people and don’t need to be divided by the color of our skin.

I don’t agree with the author’s view (and focus) on global warming - I believe out earth’s temperature has been going up and down, possibly, since creation.

My conclusion:

Upside is a great book, one I enjoyed reading. A lot of the facts given in this book surprised me.

I give Upside 4 out of 5 stars.

I received this book free to review from Bethany House. The opinions expressed in this review are my true thoughts and feeling regarding this book. I am disclosing this information in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
