Very Eye-Opening - My Review of Your Teenager is Not Crazy

Published by: Baker Books
By: Dr. Jeramy Clark and Jerusha Clark

I am not a parent, but I chose to read and review Your Teenager is Not Crazy because I was curious about it and because I thought that it could be helpful in regard to my fiction writing and the parent/teen relationships there.

Who the book is for:

This is a book that is written for parents of teenagers, but I think that parents of younger children could benefit from reading it now - and again when their children are older - and that any teachers, youth leaders, etc. can benefit from it.

What I liked:

I love the way that this book goes into the way that a brain is developing when a child is in their teens. This book goes deep, much deeper than other books out there, and it shares what is really happening for a teen on a scientific level.

This book is written by two individuals who seem to be very caring. Rather than pick on teenagers and point out the ways that they mess up, this book is made to help parents understand their teens and their actions.

I like the real life stories that are shared in the book.

What I didn’t like:

I don't necessarily agree with every little thing in this book, but there were no big issues that I came across that would cause me to dislike it.

My conclusion:

Overall, I found this book to be a really good parenting guide.

I give Your Teenager is Not Crazy 5 out of 5 stars.

I received this book free to review from Baker Books. The opinions expressed in this review are my true thoughts and feeling regarding this book. I am disclosing this information in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

Heartwarming and Interesting - My Review of Someone Like You

Published by: Bethany House
By: Victoria Bylin

I enjoy reading all kinds of novels, and Someone Like You is one of my favorite types of books. I was happy to have the chance to read and review this contemporary fiction work.

This book tells the story of a young mom who is trying to make her business work while dealing with her young son and his father - a man who is hard to deal with. The book also tells about a man who is struggling with his faith and the way that he fights to get back to where he once was.

Who the book is for:

Those of us who enjoy reading a love story with a little more to it, a story with heart.

What I liked:

The story of this book kept me interested and kept me wanting to read.

The characters are fun to read about and they seem like real people.

The story has heart.

There are a few funny moments in the book.

What I didn’t like:

There is not much that I really didn't like when it comes to this book.

My conclusion:

Overall, I thought that this was a pretty good read.

I give Someone Like You 5 out of 5 stars.

Slow Moving but Seems Like It Could Have Heart - My Review of 'The Eleventh' TV Show

I love watching TV shows - much more than I enjoy watching movies - and I really thought that 'The Eleventh' sounded like something that would be interesting. I was very happy to have the chance to watch and review the first episode of this show.

'The Eleventh' tells the story of a teen girl who reconnects with the grandmother that her parents have lived estranged from, the grandmother who she does not remember.

What I liked:

The characters seem interesting.

The story has some heart to it.

The end left me hanging and curious to see what is to come.

What I didn't like:

The show is slow moving and the acting is not the best.

My Conclusion:

Overall, I'm not sure what to think of this show. I would be interested in viewing the next episode and seeing what it holds.

I give what I've seen of 'The Eleventh' 3 out of 5 stars.
